Ulysse Nardin Is Changing the Face of Watchmaking
Founded in 1846, Ulysse Nardin is a pioneering Swiss manufacture, disrupting traditional expectations and reinventing how we think about time. Mr. Ulysse Nardin began as an engineer of onboard marine chronometers, establishing the brand’s enduring link to the sea. To this day, they are among the most award-winning and reliable onboard chronometers ever designed. As a pioneer in innovative technologies, Ulysse Nardin is one of the few integrated manufactures, using its in-house expertise to produce high precision components and movements. This structure has allowed Ulysse Nardin to change the face of contemporary watchmaking.

Meet the FREAK
In 2001, Ulysse Nardin introduced the first FREAK, a luxury watch created by Dr. Ludwig Oechslin. Reinventing the tourbillon, the movement of this watch acts as the minute hand, rotating once an hour inside the case. An instant classic, the FREAK collection has expanded to include the new Freak ONE capsule.

Freak One Ulysse Nardin
The FREAK ONE is the quintessence of the legendary FREAK and is the proud recipient of the Iconic Watch Prize at the Grand Prix of Horology of Geneva. This watch redefines watchmaking with its UN-240 automatic movement, featuring a silicon oscillator and DIAMonSIL-titanium case. True to its FREAK-ish roots, the FREAK ONE has no dial, hands, or crown. It is the purest expression of the movement of time.

Freak X Ulysse Nardin
The FREAK X further expands on Ulysse Nardin's ideal of pure movement by introducing a crown to the FREAK's sleek circular shape. The FREAK X still functions without a dial or hands. However, the crown makes the FREAK X a more accessible instrument, with a convenient time-setting function that maintains the FREAK's revolutionary design.

You can meet the FREAK in all its iterations at the TimeMachine, where horological innovation is always on display.

Go Wild With OPS
Ulysse Nardin continues to raise the bar with the introduction of the OPS capsule. OPS, short for "operations," takes the iconic movements of the FREAK ONE and the FREAK X and transforms them into understated adventure watches. Made for living at the cross-section of city life and the outdoors, these sleek masterpieces feature a forest green colorway and black DLC titanium in addition to the iconic tourbillon that sets each FREAK apart.

Tourneau | Bucherer offers its visitors a unique presentation of the FREAK OPS capsule collection. The presentation displays the capsule’s new take on the tourbillion that made the FREAK an icon, including essential information about the brand, components, and technological innovations at work inside the watches.
