Founded more than 170 years ago, Jaeger-LeCoultre has consistently distinguished itself as a master of watchmaking. From the creation of the world's smallest mechanical movement, through the emergence of the legendary swivel-case Reverso, to the most ingenious complications, Jaeger-LeCoultre watches are the result of a rare manufacture with a vision for the passion and measurement of time.

Since 1833, the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed and produced over 1,200 calibres, more than half of them incorporating complications. Tiny, complicated parts are meticulously finished, assembled and adjusted into a movement by master watchmakers. Over 350 patented inventions have contributed to the progress of Swiss watchmaking in the field of movements, as well as to that of cases, bracelets, dials and watch functions.

In 1931, a watch was developed for Polo players with a dial that could flip, protecting it from shocks while offering a solid caseback that could be personalized. Eighty years later, the Reverso has progressed from watchmaking icon to cult status.

The Reverso has evolved through the years with new faces, sizes and complications, but has never lost its essence. In direct tribute to this proud lineage of watches, 2011 brings the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin. Today, wearing the watch is an entry to an exclusive world, not only in terms of watchmaking history but also aesthetic refinement.

The Reverso has enjoyed 80 wonderful years of stories, anecdotes, aesthetic variations and technical innovations. The retro-chic venue, Les Beaux Arts in Paris, was the perfect setting for this latest unveiling of the watch's rich heritage to 800 guests, including such prestigious dignitaries as Ambassador Diane Kruger, Clive Owen, Catherine Deneuve, and Adrien Brody.
