Watches & Wonders Showcases the Best in Watchmaking

The streets of Geneva are about to fill with the most notable watchmakers in the world.
The timekeeping world has been waiting for the newest installment of the biggest week in the trade. Watches & Wonders begins in Geneva, Switzerland, on March 27th. This multi-day event is where industry leaders across retail, technology and journalism will gather to discover new styles and innovations for the upcoming year. Watches & Wonders sets a standard for watch fairs with services for industry professionals and watchmaking enthusiasts alike.
Two programs have been created to increase enjoyment for all attendees. The first program, “In the City,” has no shortage of watchmaking wonders. From Monday, March 27th to Saturday, April 1st, Watches & Wonders takes over the city center with planned exhibitions, boutiques and guided visits. These celebrations culminate in an evening of festivities on Thursday, March 30th, that feature street artists, bands, dancers, and a special conference entitled “Geneva, Switzerland and Watchmaking.”
Industry insiders take advantage of this time to meet, discuss and inspire with new developments from their brands. Then, on April 1st and April 2nd, the second program begins, “In the Salon." The event combines conferences and trade shows to produce an extensive program that is open to the public. Swiss press photographer, Karine Bauzin, is to host an exhibition called, “What Time Is It?” that investigates the modern-day relationship with time. Attendees can also visit the 48 exhibiting Maisons to witness the newest developments from the masters of time.
A celebration of watchmaking The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie was originally founded in 1991 out of the desire for a conference specifically geared towards fine watchmaking. While other renowned horological trade fairs, such as Baselworld, also showcase jewelry, Watches & Wonders is unique in that it centers solely on timekeeping. The name was officially changed in 2020 to Watches & Wonders as a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the conference.

Conference-goers are surrounded by the beauty of the ancient European city, the delights of Swiss culture, and the legacy of the watchmaking experts of the Saint-Gervais district, where watchmaking transcends craft and becomes art.
Throughout its three-decade history, Watches & Wonders has continuously brought together industry leaders for an intense week of reveals and releases. Thousands of like-minded enthusiasts from around the world join together to observe milestone events in the world of watchmaking. In 2019, SIHH attracted over 23,000 visitors. The 2020 and 2021 conferences were held virtually to protect conference-goers during the Covid 19 pandemic. The fair now welcomes guests both in-person at the salon or digitally through a dedicated platform, allowing for a more versatile and universal experience.
New innovations revealed The 40 exhibiting brands at the 2023 exhibition are expected to unveil their latest innovations during the week-long event. In addition to new collections, 12 innovative projects on the future of watchmaking are on display for anyone attending the salon on April 1st and 2nd. This year, these displays will be in the LAB, a specific area inside the conference dedicated to showcasing technological innovations.
In addition to new product releases and technological inventions, all the brands included in Watches & Wonders showcase new styles and trends. The best Maisons in Geneva open their doors and reveal special designs and rare complications to display their expertise. Each participating boutique has a special activity planned to welcome visitors.
