As the dust settles from Ohio's Western & Southern Open, the tennis spotlight has shifted dramatically to the bustling metropolis of New York City. The US Open has the final say, the culmination of a season of play that resonates profoundly with both devoted fans and athletes. This prestigious tournament embodies a unique blend of competition and anticipation, framed against the cosmopolitan backdrop of the Big Apple, while Rolex's influential partnership with tennis takes center stage.

The tournament's grandeur is underscored by its rich history, tracing back to 1881, and its steadfast home at Flushing Meadows, New York. Since 2018, Rolex has held the mantle of Official Timekeeper, ensuring precise timing as the drama of the US Open unfolds where the tournament's vibrant energy matches the excitement and pulse of New York. Among its 17 competition courts stands the monumental Arthur Ashe Stadium, which serves as the centerpiece of this iconic event.

Inaugurated in 1881, this tournament has been played on the hard surface at Flushing Meadows, New York, since 1978. Among the 17 competition courts is the largest in the world, Arthur Ashe Stadium, with a seating capacity of more than 23,500.

A FUSION OF ENERGY
The US Open is known for its electric ambience, a reflection of New York itself, “the city that never sleeps”. At this vibrant, dynamic event – played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center – the action also unfolds in the stands, where spectators are not afraid to give voice to their excitement. During matches, the energy emanating from the fans, the court and the city converge to galvanize the players.

ROLEX TESTIMONEES AND THE US OPEN
Amid this incandescent atmosphere, matches at this Grand Slam have become the stuff of legend. The five consecutive titles Roger Federer won at Flushing Meadows from 2004 to 2008 are etched in memory.

Among its other tennis Testimonees, Rolex counts a host of fellow US Open winners: Rod Laver, Chris Evert, Stefan Edberg, Pat Rafter, Justine Henin, Juan Martín del Potro, Angelique Kerber, Sloane Stephens, Bianca Andreescu and Dominic Thiem. In 2022, Iga Świątek and Carlos Alcaraz added their names to this impressive list.

They embody technical precision and the quest to become a better version of oneself.

THE TOURNAMENT OF TRAILBLAZERS
The US Open is fertile ground for innovation in tennis. From introducing the tiebreak and scheduling games at night, to implementing Hawk-Eye Live – a digital refereeing system that makes line calls immediately – every effort is made to ensure the tournament remains as compelling as ever.

At this crucial juncture of competition, two emerging tennis stars, and Rolex Testimonees, Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz, have captured the tennis world's attention. Gauff brings enormous momentum into the Open, recently winning her biggest career title in Cincinnati, as she captivates audiences with her remarkable skill and youthful dynamism. Meanwhile, Alcaraz has swiftly ascended to the status of tennis superstar after his stunning defeat of Novak Djokovic last spring at Wimbledon, turning heads with his exceptional talent and charisma on and off the court.

The spectacular grounds, celebrity sightings, and New York’s passionate spectators contribute an electrifying layer that amplifies the tournament's atmosphere. The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center transforms into a colossal center of energy, where the collective spirit of the crowd, the court, and iconic Honey Deuce cocktails uplifts and fuels the entire tournament.

From the sun-soaked courts of the Australian Open to the iconic grass of Wimbledon, each Grand Slam tournament unfolds with its own distinct character. As the US Open's chapter concludes the season, Rolex's enduring presence remains palpable. With a legacy spanning over four decades, Rolex's partnership with tennis reflects the shared values of precision and innovation with their trademark pursuit of excellence.
