Spring Drive UFA SLGB003

The silver-tinged blue dial of SLGB003 is inspired by the frozen landscapes of the Kirigamine Highlands, where... winter’s frost transforms the trees into delicate sculptures of ice. Finished with expert craftsmanship, the dial’s soft, crystalline texture captures the essence of this natural phenomenon. The tempered blue seconds hand glides smoothly across the surface, a hallmark of Spring Drive, bringing a natural sense of time’s quiet flow.  

The design language of SLGB003 follows Grand Seiko’s Evolution 9 (E9) design philosophy, rooted in the 44GS of 1967. Broad, faceted hands and bold grooved markers ensure exceptional legibility, while the interplay of Zaratsu-polished and fine hairline finishes highlights the case’s sharp yet refined geometry. With a diameter of 37mm, the watch offers a perfectly balanced fit. The case is crafted from high-intensity titanium, providing both durability and a lightweight feel on the wrist. A newly developed bracelet with a three-step micro-adjustment clasp allows for tool-free sizing in 2mm increments, ensuring a precise and comfortable fit.  

At the heart of SLGB003 is the groundbreaking Spring Drive Caliber 9RB2, a movement that achieves an unprecedented level of accuracy. With an annual deviation of just ±20 seconds, it carries the U.F.A. (Ultra Fine Accuracy) designation, representing the pinnacle of precision in a mainspring-powered watch. This innovation is achieved through meticulous engineering, including a specially aged quartz oscillator, a highly efficient integrated circuit, and a vacuum-sealed regulation system that ensures stability over time. The movement’s beauty is visible through the exhibition case back, where finely polished bevels and jewel-set bridges reflect the exceptional craftsmanship of the Shinshu Watch Studio.
