  • Time for Bremont began when we embarked on a journey to make beautifully crafted pilot's watches of exceptional quality. Flying historic aircraft has been in our blood from a very early age, as has our love for watches and all things mechanical. The timepieces had to be tested beyond any normal call of duty (and not just in the workshop), and of course be immensely precise and durable. We make our watches in very limited numbers and to a very high specification for the price point. Every watch we make is Chronometer certified and we stand by our product and are one of the few companies offering a three year warranty on every watch we produce.

We hope you get the same sense of satisfaction as us when you try on a Bremont.
Founded by two British brothers, Nick and Giles English, Bremont originated from the brothers joint lifetime love and passion for engineering and aviation.

Their love for watches and all things mechanical started at an early age. They learned from their talented engineering father, Dr Euan English who also taught the brothers how to fly. In 1995, Nick and Euan were training for the air show in their WWII Harvard when their aircraft was involved in a horrendous accident. Nick survived and this was a tipping-point in the brothers lives and provided the impetus to follow their passion, watches. Their watches are made of the highest quality and use only the finest mechanical movements.
In the late 1990s, Giles and Nick were flying down through France in their 1930s bi-plane when they were forced to make an emergency landing due to a rough-running engine. The weather was also closing in.

Keen to avoid the French authorities, the brothers were more than happy to accept the gracious help from the old farmer whose field they had landed in. The aircraft was pushed by Nick and Giles into his barn where it stayed for the night as the weather cleared. The brothers also stayed the night with the farmer and were delighted to be shown his workshop and hear all of his flying tales. He too had flown aircraft (during the war) and was also a gifted engineer. The farmer still wore his own father"s wristwatch, and the farmer"s name… Antoine Bremont.

    PRECISION

Every standard Bremont watch is chronometer tested and accompanied by a performance certificate, issued by the 'Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronométres' (COSC), to show that the mechanical movement has passed all of the rigorous precision tests — a necessity of the chronometer designation.
    X

    DURABILITY

Within the workshops of England and Switzerland, all Bremont wristwatches, without exception, are heavily tested, adjusted and registered. Bremont is also very proud to offer a three-year guarantee on all of its watches.

    AVIATION

Any well-designed and beautifully made mechanical device — whether a vintage aircraft, car or watch, should all theoretically work as well the day they first came off the production line. The parallel between an eighty year old vintage aircraft and a vintage mechanical watch forms a large part of Bremont's DNA.
    X

    MECHANICAL

Bremont only manufactures mechanical automatic chronometer watches and every movement, whether it is in a clear case back or not, is finished to the highest execution. Each movement is guaranteed to within -4 +6 seconds per day. Bremont produces some of the finest quality watches in its price point.

All Bremont watches are treated for hardness with B-EBE2000® entnology. In this special stage in the case production, the metal is heat-treated and defused with carbon and then bombarded with electrons, giving the stainless steel a dramatically increased hardness and scratch resistance. On the Vickers scale of hardness, B-EBE2000® produces a watchcase with a value of 2000, which is approximately nine times that of the normal stainless steel used for watchcases.

Bremont's sapphire crystals, convex and with a Mohs hardness rating of "9" (equivalent to 2000Hv on the Vickers scale), also have anti-reflective coatings applied to both sides of the glass. Untreated crystals can allow light to reflect back, which can significantly affect the legibility of the watch dial. The coating, with its carefully calculated thickness, is vapor-deposited onto the crystals in a vacuum environment, and is also specially treated to maintain a hardness of close to 2000Hv. Reflections are therefore reduced to less than 0.5%.

    Bremont ROTO-CLICK®
The new Roto-click inner rotating bezel is controlled by an outer crown at 8H or 4H (depending on the model) and has a beautifully engineered ball-locking system, containing a number of ball bearings that position the bezel accurately for greater readability.

    'Anti-Shock' Movement Mount
Bremont's focus is purely on beautifully made mechanical movements. Mechanical watches are inherently less robust, so a unique rubberized movement mount has been made to enclose the workings of the inner case. Connected to the outer case, the flexible ring absorbs shocks to the watch and allows the inner case and movement to float.

    Anti-Magnetic Faraday Cage
A number of Bremont models are designed to withstand the detrimental effects of magnetism on a watch's movement. This is achieved, in the limited amount of space available, by encasing the movement in a soft-iron Faraday cage. Any potentially harmful magnetic fields are then routed around the movement.

    ESCAPEMENT SEAT TECHNOLOGY

Bremont Watch Company and Martin-Baker have collaborated to design and build the ultimate aviation watch. The alliance has produced a unique aviation watch that will embody all that is meant by "Made in Britain". As the pioneer of the ejection seat and supplier to over 70% of the Western world’s air forces, Martin-Baker represents the pinnacle of British engineering, they have saved over 7300 lives to date. The partnership combined Martin-Baker"s knowledge of testing, materials and design with Bremont"s watch making skills with the aim of creating the de-facto aviation timepiece.
  • Bremont redevelops the 'C-17 Globemaster' watch as the Bremont World Timer (ALT1-WT) for the civilian market and produces its first global timer watch for use by pilots and travelers all over the world.

Launched in a Trip-Tick® case with a Roto-click® bezel and a very complex, highly finished dial, the watch has been wonderfully over-engineered. The steel used in the case construction has been hardened though a series of processes at high temperatures to give it a hardness and scratch resistance of 2000 Vickers (a standard untreated 316L stainless steel watch case will naturally be around 300 Vickers). The internal bezel uses a mechanism developed by Bremont, allowing the user to turn the bezel with a satisfying 'click' for each minute turned.

The World Timer was launched at Baselworld in March 2012 and is set for release in the summer.
